"Looking
at this artist from another angle, some of these tracks could easily
find their way into some American High School movies and TV series
of the likes of Smallville, Dawson's Creek etc. A great example of
this is "You Make It Dark" and "To Be Honest",
there's a lot of passion and emotion going on within these songs.
This guy has certainly got something because at times this music gets
you up jumping, other times it makes you think. Accepting the fact
that there is some rawness here, I've a feeling Gustavo Lovato could
make it in a big way given the right breaks. I hope he does, he deserves
it. It would be good if the next release doesn't take too long to
appear though. 80% for sheer potential and enthusiasm."

"If
'progressive pop' existed as a genre this record would probably be
best described in that way. The songs are easy to digest on a first
listen basis but reveal themselves better as they are given time.
recorded in single day sessions mostly in Chicago's Gravity Studios
by Doug McBride starting in 1995, the album has a freshness that comes
from one-take performances and spur of the moment arrangement ideas.
drummer Bill Swartz (Caviar, Fig Dish, Nectarine, The Girls, Ultraswiss)
throughout and cellist Eric Remschneider (Smashing Pumpkins, Hole)
on 'minus me' are highlights musically."
"An inspired
debut album borrowing from a big spectrum of rock, from Marillion
to The Police to Michael Penn; the theater of progressive rock condensed
into a three minute quote. (Kevin Gilbert anyone ?) think : progressive
pop."
